DeskDraft started as a personal frustration. I'm a developer who spent way too much time researching desk setups, only to buy the wrong keyboard, then the wrong monitor, then waste money on gear that looked good in reviews but felt terrible in practice.

I realized I wasn't alone. Every developer I talked to had bought *something* wrong. They'd spend $150 on a keyboard based on gaming YouTubers, then realize mechanical switches designed for Valorot don't translate to 8-hour coding sessions. They'd order an ultrawide monitor without understanding scaling issues on Windows. They'd buy a "professional" USB mic that picked up every keystroke.

Why This Matters

Your setup is where you spend a third of your life. Bad ergonomics compound over years—wrist pain, back problems, eye strain. The right keyboard doesn't make you a better developer, but the *wrong* one will definitely hold you back.

Most gear reviews are written by people chasing affiliate commissions. They'll recommend the most expensive option because it pays better, not because it's best for *you*. DeskDraft is different. We test gear with actual developers. We compare what actually matters for coding, not gaming or streaming. We're honest about trade-offs.

What We Do

Every review on this site comes from testing with real developer workflows. Full-day coding sessions. Pair programming. Terminal-heavy work. We measure ergonomics, durability, and value—not RGB lighting or aesthetic YouTuber appeal.

We also maintain the Gear Spreadsheet—a living comparison of every keyboard, monitor, mic, and webcam we've tested. It's free. It's filterable. It's the antidote to Reddit's "what should I buy?" threads.

The Newsletter

Every week, we share what we're testing, what we've learned, and (occasionally) when we change our minds about gear. We don't bombard with sales pitches. We don't sponsor products we don't use. It's just the build log of someone who cares about developer productivity.

If you spend 8+ hours a day at your desk, this is for you.

About the Founder

DeskDraft is built by a developer who's tested 50+ keyboards, 20+ monitors, and countless other gear setups. I've worked remote for 8+ years and learned (the expensive way) what actually matters for productivity and health.

When I started testing gear with other developers, I realized there was a gap in the market. Every blog was either a generic affiliate roundup or written by someone who doesn't code. I built DeskDraft to fix that.
